Review: Lelo Ora
The Lelo Ora is the first toy I have used which simulates oral sex . The Ora is part of the Insignia range from Lelo which was released in January. The Ora is available in black, deep rose and midnight blue.
The Ora is round in shape with a flattened base made of body safe silicone with a metallic plastic interior featuring the LELO logo embossed on both sides and a handle.
The Ora is packaged in a glossy black outer sleeve which features images or the Ora and information in six different languages. Inside the sleeve the Ora is packaged in a luxury black box where the Ora sits in a black textured foam insert. The box contains the Ora, the UK wall charging cable, instructions, user manual with one year warranty and authenticity card as well as a storage pouch.
The Lelo Ora is made from FDA approved body safe silicone which appears seamless and ABS plastic for the silver inside.
The Ora is rechargeable and charges using a UK plug which has a cable to insert into the Ora near the base. When charging the buttons on the Ora flash. The Ora has up to an hours use when fully charged and 90 days stand by. It takes between 2 – 3 hours to charge the Ora.
The Lelo Ora does have a lock feature. I could however find no where which mentions this, I found out by pressing buttons out of interest. To lock the Ora push and hold down the + and – buttons. To unlock do the same.
To turn on the Ora press the + button and press the – button to turn the Ora off. Use the + and – to increase and decrease the vibrations also. To change the stimulation pattern press the () button. There are ten different patterns to flick through which are demonstrated in the instructions. These all have a different movement and/or vibration. To unleash the intense setting hold down the () button for 3 seconds.
The Ora is fully waterproof and can be cleaned with warm water and toy cleaner or soap.
I have a love/hate relationship with the Ora. It’s a lovely high quality toy as you would expect from Lelo, easy to hold and can comfortably find my clit. With a bit of water based lubricant, to me it achieves the ‘tongue’ effect, and with when relaxing it feels good. It irks me slightly as relaxing isn’t something I’m very good at, and the mechanic sounds of the toy are rather distracting. Oral sex isn’t something that makes me orgasm, so I wasn’t expecting miracles here, but the Ora for me is great for foreplay. It definitely has an effect. For those who crave a bit more power, the intense setting which gives 30% more vibration is a great feature as honestly I can’t tell the difference on the + and – buttons.
When using the Ora I can’t reach anywhere else as it basically cock blocks me! My fingers can’t reach as it is in the way and if I use a dildo the positioning of the Ora isn’t quite right. The Ora is a selfish toy, but that’s probably more down to my anatomy.
The Ora may not create earth shattering orgasms, and for some the ‘tongue’ may not even get anywhere near the right place. However it still has the right amount of vibration and swirls to create the desired effect for me and replicate oral sex.
